Gurugram Student Featured on School Banner Among Key Accused in NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Probe
A Gurugram student, whose photograph was displayed on a local school's "top achievers" banner for his MBBS selection, has been arrested by the CBI in connection with the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.

Yash Yadav, a resident of Khurampur village in Farrukhnagar, Gurugram, was first detained by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) on Monday before being taken to Delhi by the CBI. His photograph had been displayed outside Oxford Convent School, felicitating him for his academic achievement.
Rajasthan SOG officials say two brothers allegedly received a 120-question guess paper purportedly linked to Yadav for Rs 15 lakh. The material was then allegedly distributed to students in Sikar through Rakesh Kumar Mandavriya, who runs a local career guidance centre, RK Consultancy.
"We detained him on Monday for questioning, while the CBI arrested them today morning and took them to Delhi," a senior SOG officer confirmed.
A second person, Shubham Khairnar of Nashik, Maharashtra, was also detained in connection with the case. Police believe he holds information regarding the movement of the material across states. The alleged network, as per investigators, spans Haryana, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.
The CBI is currently examining financial transactions and communication records of those detained. The case has also drawn political responses, with Congress leader Ashok Gehlot claiming on social media that one of the detained brothers was associated with the BJP's youth wing.
Yash Yadav, Shubham Khairnar, and all others under investigation remain accused, not convicted. No court has determined their guilt. The probe continues.
